Kids Kreations

UPDATE: We'll be handing out Kids Kreations at our December 20th meeting.  If you need to make different arrangements to pick up your items, please email Leah Raup.

The Ins and Outs of our meeting on October 18th:

This coming meeting we will hold our fundraiser, Kids Kreations.  Kids Kreations specializes in transforming your child's original artwork into personalized gifts or keepsakes that your family (or very special friends) will treasure for a lifetime!

How it works:

Bring your child/ren with you to the room where MOPS meets at 9:15am.  (Yes, 9:15am)  Tables with paint, brushes, markers, and paper will be set up for your child to work during their time creating their artwork.  Before painting, it would be beneficial to you to have an idea of what your child would like to do, or what you'd like your child to create.  Below is a list of websites with finger print artwork ideas, as well as the Kids Kreations website to get some ideas.  Once you've established "the what" head over to the tables and first write your name on the back of paper (it's easier to do this before applying paint)!  

Once your child has completed their masterpiece, please hang the artwork with a clothespin onto the clothesline provided.  This way the artwork will dry completely before the end of our meeting (which is much appreciated to our Special Events Leader who will be putting all of your precious work into her car).  

We will let you know at what time your child can begin heading back to their MOPPETS room, but we'd like for all the children to be completed by no later than 10:40am.  After that time, you and your table will have free time to not only chat, but to choose your Kids Kreation product and get the order form, with check, over to Leah Raup (our Special Events Leader). 

What if my child doesn't attend MOPPETS?

No worries!  If you'd like for your child to participate, please bring in their completed artwork on Thursday morning.  The Kids Kreation website has the directions to follow when creating the artwork, ie which medium best works when creating a Kids Kreation. 

What if I do not want to purchase a Kids Kreation?

Please join us anyway!  Your child is welcome to color or paint with the rest of the children, and after the children return to their MOPPETS room, you'll enjoy uninterupted time with your favorite MOPS moms! (Maybe we're not there yet....maybe your not-so- favorite MOPS moms...) : )

Things to remember:

1. Bring a check for payment (We need all orders on Thursday in order to ensure delivery in time for Christmas)

2. Messy kids? Messy mom?  Bring a smock or an old t-shirt!

3. Your child's artwork will not be perfect...get. over. it.  (I laugh that I type this.  But it's true- the cute little product you buy will look perfect because it's of your child's artwork...not because your child's artwork is perfect.)

A New Approach

So as I am sitting here, ready to update the blog, I'm thinking a new tab is needed.  It's not rocket science to think of such things, but hey- that's what you get at 8:41pm from a tired momma.  The new tab will be aptly named, "Meeting Recap" to summarize the happenings and discussions from the meetings throughout the year.  This main page (which you're reading right) now will most likely be used for special announcements or to tell you there are updates to the pages (tabs) on the blog.  Confusing?  Let me know...
